Four Superb Courses sure to test even the best golfers!

Tramore Golf ClubTramore Golf Club was founded in 1894 and lies on the edge of town. This championship course of just under 6700 yards will challenge the most enthusiastic golfer. It is a demanding test but one that is admirably fair. It is a real challenge where club selection and course management are vital.

Tramore Golf Club has many wonderful holes including the difficult dog-leg fourth, the challenging par three tenth and the penultimate 17th is an exciting hole uphill to a green that is well protected by a deep bunker. The course has been a favourite for national events and last hosted the Irish Amateur Championship in 2004. A multi-million euro development has seen the course extended to 27 holes with new USGA standard greens and tees. The redevelopment has propelled Tramore Golf Club back to the fore in Irish golf and in 2011 the club will host the Irish Youths Championship as well as the Senior Ladies Home Internationals.

Faithlegg Golf ClubFaithlegg Golf Club is situated on the banks of the River Suir amid the luxurious Faithlegg House Hotel. The course is a superb test of golf and has hosted the Ladies Irish Open on a number of occasions as well as a EuroPro Tour event as well.

This par 72 layout is strategically designed with rolling fairways and boldly contoured greens. The finishing three holes are as tough a test as can be found in Ireland with a daunting par three 16th nestled in the trees with a very narrow approach. The index 1 17th has ruined many a card and a long par four 18th sets up with wonderful views of the 18th century mansion that has been transformed into a luxury hotel. Waterford Castle Golf ClubWaterford Castle Golf Club is a unique golf course as it is the only one of its kind in Ireland where you need to take a ferry to play!! The course is situated on an Island in the middle of the River Suir in Waterford and this Des Smyth layout is another fine test of golf. Water comes into play on a number  of holes with a long carry the feature of the par 4 3rd while the risk and reward features of the Par 5 8th and 15th make both holes a real birdie opportunity. The impressive par three 16th demands accuracy off the tee and a par is always a fine result on this one.

This course has hosted a number of top events including the Irish Ladies Strokeplay Championship and is sure to be a hit with all golfers.

Mount JulietMount Juliet Golf Club is one of the jewels in the Irish Golfing Crown. This Jack Nicklaus design has hosted the Irish Open as well as the American Express World Golf Championship on more than one occasion and this exciting golf course throws up many challenges.

Situated just 13 miles from Waterford City, Mount Juliet has many holes that will thrill. This is a course that will live long in the memory with the stunning par 3 3rd which carries across a lake sure to feature in the post game discussion. The par 4 12th is a serious test of golf with the green guarded by a lake which leaves even the best golfer with some serious decision making!
